Month-End Close
What it does
Month-End Close provides a structured 8-task checklist to guide you through closing your books at the end of each month. Four tasks are auto-verified by querying live data (uncategorised transactions, bank reconciliation, draft invoices, draft bills). Four tasks require manual confirmation (journal entries, VAT return, report review, period locking). Once all tasks are complete, you can lock the period to prevent further changes — creating an audit trail.
Key actions
- Click "Start Current Month" to begin the close process
- Work through each task — auto-checked items update in real time
- Click the arrow icon on any task to jump to the relevant page
- Manually mark tasks complete with the green tick button
- Click "Lock Period" when done — this is irreversible and protects the audit trail
- Click "Refresh Checks" to re-verify all auto-checked tasks
Getting started
Go to Accounting > Month-End Close. Click "Start Current Month" to create a close period for this month. The system will auto-detect which tasks are already done (e.g., if bank reconciliation is complete, that task will show as green). Work through the remaining tasks in order.
